When the drink matches the cup
It's 11:07 a.m. Friday morning in February, the bed is yet not made and the signs of a rushed breakfast are still all over the kitchen. Yet what am I doing? I am starting a blog. I have no idea how this world works, how and who is going to find my writings, but that doesn't really matter at the moment, the thing is I've been wanting to do this for a while, mostly for exercise. I am a film directing student in my 2nd year of university, and in the past few years writing has been the utmost torment for me. I come from a mathematics-informatics class in high school and it kind of formed me into thinking in systematic plans and logical consequences - even though I was never great in programming, but I could handle math - my scripts are drawn, sketched, arrows point to here and there, and nobody understands anything but me. Even if the film turns out fine, and it is understandable, the pre-production process contains a lot of explaining. And explaining and explaining again. And to re-learn to write (I believe I liked to write before high school, something happened then, maybe laziness) I need exercise. All the great writers forced themselves to write something, a journal, a poem, what they observed, every single day to stay focused. So that is what I'll try to do. The script is a literary piece of writing, even if it has to be succinct, compact and does not contain unnecessary lengthy descriptions and what not. But it is also preferable to say the following differently: "This scene starts with the extreme close up of Jenny who has worried eyes, and the camera slowly retreats to find the murder weapon on the table". No camera movements, no camera shots, no camera, and written as if it was a novel, but to suggest that there should be an extreme close up (the eyes may give it away) and how the camera should move. And this is a constant problem of mine that I'm trying to work on.
It's 11:40 now, in 40 minutes I have to go to my only class today (the first one was suspended), but I'd like to explain another thing. I speak 4 languages, 3 (Hungarian, Romanian, English) good, 1(German) we're getting there, and currently I am planning to learn French and Spanish. We learn about all those great people in history who knew 9+ languages, who didn't had what we have today and we still can not be half as good as they were. So I'm trying to take advantage of the time we're living in but that's beside the point. (See how my mind jumps from one theme to another?) What I wanted to say, that English is not my first language and not the one I'm speaking every day, some things might get mixed up and end up not sounding English. If someone reads this and finds mistakes, please do inform me so I can correct myself in the future. I've been reading in English since the 7th grade, so this mainly happens with the other languages, my sentences sound English, but you never know.
And now you might ask yourselves, then why am I writing in English here? Well you may know what they say: with every new language comes a new personality. And I like my English personality the best. Somehow it makes me feel more open and more free. I am an introvert. Super shy introvert who barely says a word, living in silence, observing the world bla bla. With English it's a bit different and I find myself talking more, explaining in detail and simply being closer to the person I've always wanted to be. And with English being the universal language and with wanting to be in this film business it is also a win-win situation, always a good thing wanting to better my English. I feel like the word "English" has been used one too many times in this paragraph.
11:59, my grey tea in my grey cup is cold now. When you leave the black teabag more than 5 minutes in the water it gets real black, and with a little milk it looks like concrete, but it's good. Lately my obsession is tea. There are times and times, I've always liked tea, but never drank 2 in one day, but I've received some interesting tea collections as gifts last Christmas - in great packaging (the packaging makes any gift 100 times better) so now my obsession is tea. It differs. Last spring it was the banana smoothie and fresh home-made orange juice so this tea thing might pass in the next couple of weeks.
It's 12:08, I think I have to go.
